Lums win two more

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen improved to 3-0 at the Bozeman Bucks Heroes Park Invitational, beating the Loveland (Colo.) Aces Blue 7-3 and the Jackson (Wyo.) Giants 8-1 on Friday at Heroes Park.
In the first game, Jackson Scherr went 2 for 3 with a two-run single in the first inning as the Lums beat Loveland.
Trent Elstad’s RBI infield single broke a 3-all tie in the bottom of the third, and Quinn Conces and Dylan Brum added RBI singles.
In the second game, Marcus Manzardo’s two-run single triggered a six-run second inning as Coeur d’Alene defeated Jackson. Riley Smith also drove in a pair of runs for the Lums, and Landen Thompson went 2 for 3 and scored twice.
The Lums are scheduled to play the Helena Senators this morning to wrap up pool play.
