Glacier Twins experience heartbreak in the Bitterroot

HAMILTON — Sunday was an all-around heartbreaker for the Glacier Twins.
Glacier had late leads in both games of Sunday’s baseball doubleheader against the host Bitterroot Red Sox, only to give up a sixth-inning three-run homer in the first game and an eighth inning two-run double in the second. Final scores were 7-6 and 8-7 in favor of Bitterroot.
The Twins had nine hits in the first game. Coby Clark-Dickinson (3-for-4), Jack Schwaiger (2-for-4) and Zach Veneman (2-for-4) led at the plate.
They had eight hits in the second game. Veneman had a monster game, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run and an RBI. Clark-Dickinson also homered and had three RBI.

FLORENCE — It was a profitable trip to the Bitterroot for the Libby Loggers on Sunday as they downed the Bitterroot Bucs in a pair of American Legion baseball games. Scores were 13-2 and 23-11.
Tripp Zhang was 2-for-3 and Quade Anderson was 2-for-4 to lead Libby at the plate in the first game.
Anderson picked up the win on the mound.
Zhang was 2-for-4 in the second game with two doubles and three RBI. Shayne Walker was the winner in that game.
