Pablo man charged with deliberate felony homicide in shooting death of Polson man

Daniel Chance Blixt, a 29-year-old Pablo resident, has been charged with deliberate homicide in the shooting death of 30-year-old Matthew Adam Posey Darnell of Polson, according to Lake County Sheriff and Coroner Don Bell.

The shooting was called in about 9:39 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, to the Lake County 911 dispatch center.

Tribal police officers, Lake County deputies and Montana Highway Patrol personnel arrived on scene and found Darnell shot multiple times. Darnell was rushed to a local hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries in the shooting.

Blixt is being held in the Lake County Jail, and Darnell’s body was sent to the Montana Crime Lab for an autopsy.

More information will be available when released by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Danielle Jeanette Wood pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide during a video arraignment Tuesday before Lake County District Court Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher at the Sanders County Courthouse in Thompson Falls. Wood is charged with deliberate homicide in connection with the death of Thompson Falls resident Matthew LaFriniere in May 2018.
