March 2 – Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Thurlow, 1216 Chestnut St., Sandpoint, boy, 7 lbs. and 5 oz.

March 2 – Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Halvorson, Sandpoint, boy, 10 lbs. and 6 oz.

PLANS FOR SPRING WEDDING

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blackwood of Sandpoint announce the engagement and spring wedding of their daughter, Nancy, to Stanley Tillberg of Sandpoint, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tillberg Sr.

Miss Blackwood, a Priest River High graduate, attended Idaho State University and North Idaho Junior College and recently graduated from the Sandpoint School of Beauty Culture. Mr. Tillberg is employed by Hedlund Lumber Co. He attended Sandpoint schools and was discharged last year from the Marine Corps after serving in Vietnam.

SCHWEITZER SLOPES FILLED

“Fantastic,” “terrific,” and other superlatives were heard often last weekend from a record-breaking crowd of Schweitzer skiers. It was the first time all four double chair lifts, three T-bars and two rope tows operated simultaneously.

March 5, 1919 — NEWS FROM CABINET

This community is getting its portion of the heavy snows. It has snowed every day this week. The snow measures 23 inches on the level at present and snow continues to fall.

NEWS FROM BUNGALOW

Snow to the depth of several inches fell again Saturday and Sunday, greatly adding to the inconvenience of the loggers and making all our roads almost impassable. The precedent of 1913 is threatened unless we get rainfall.

LOCAL BRIEFS

Ed Soles, 313 Marion, came down from Noxon, Mont., where he makes posts in one of the McFarland camps. He says the snow up there was waist deep when he left and he plans to go back after it settles a day or two.

Nine feet of snow is reported on Bald mountain.

Valentine Bodie arrived here today, having taken part in the battles of the Argonne and other noted engagements of the world war. He left Sandpoint April, 1917, with old Company A.

Dr. T.J. Jones, the chiropractor, is back in his office after an absence of three weeks caused by illness with the flu and fever. He was compelled to leave his practice, as he could get no one to look after it while he was sick, but he is now giving it his personal attention again.
