Dorothy Lois 'Lois' Dundon

Dorothy Lois “Lois” Dundon went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 17, 2019, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Lois was born on September 28, 1924, on a farm near St. John, Washington, to Melvin and Fern (Owens) Carnegie. She moved with her parents to Rathdrum, Idaho, and then to Greenacres, Washington.

She was a farm girl at heart, and remembered milking cows, gardening, and playing with her brother Bob.

Lois attended Central Valley High School, graduating in 1943. She then attended and graduated from Kelsey Baird Business College in Spokane.

Following business college, Lois was employed by the Spokesman Review – Spokane Daily Chronicle as the secretary to the circulation manager.

She married the love of her life, Donald Jacob Dundon, on May 3, 1953 at Central Methodist Church. They made their first home together in Montesano, Washington. Later they resided in Pomeroy, Washington, Walla Walla, Washington, Brewster, Washington, Sandpoint, Idaho, and finally in Hayden, Idaho, where they lived for over 35 years. Lois and Don were married for over 64 years.

Lois was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She volunteered at her church, as well as with Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts, and 4-H. She often assisted Don in his newspaper work, especially the monthly Senior Review, which they published for 11 years.

Lois was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, where she was active in women’s groups.

She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxil-iary, as well as a member of the Hayden Grandmothers Club. She enjoyed taking pictures and filling numerous photo albums. She also loved to garden and bake homemade bread.

Lois suffered a stroke in 2015 and spent the last 3 1/2 years of her life residing at Generations Assisted Living, where she made many friends and was very much loved. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her positive outlook, and her loving commitment to her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Barbara Parker and husband Eric of Sandpoint, Idaho, daughter Kathy Moe and husband Ron of Renton, Washington, grandson Rocky Parker of Spokane, Washington, granddaughter Kalina Clewell and husband Trever of Brookings, Oregon, grandson Cameron Moe of Renton, granddaughter Kelsey Moe of Renton, great-grandson Austin Clewell of Brookings, sister-in-law Donna Jean Carnegie of Spokane;, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jacob Dundon; parents Melvin and Fern Carnegie; and brother Robert Carnegie.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m.
