Coeur d’Alene distance runner Shell signs with L-C State cross country team
LEWISTON — Lewis-Clark State cross country coach Mike Collins announced the signing of Brooklyn Shell out of Coeur d’Alene High School.
“She is going to help what is already a very deep and talented team to be even better,” Collins said.
Through her junior season in track, Shell’s personal-bests include 5:19 in the 1,600 meters and 11:44 in the 3,200. She has qualified for state in both events multiple times. In cross country she ran an 18:41 in Lewiston at the state 5A meet, where she finished 22nd overall. That time ranks her as the seventh-best senior in the state.
“We believe she is going to be very impactful in our success this next fall,” Collins said. “Coeur d’Alene has a great history of putting out great cross country athletes and we are excited to add another one to our family here.”
