Glenn Murray Dorsey, 78

Glenn Murray Dorsey peacefully passed away in Post Falls, Idaho, on Feb. 28, 2019, at the age of 78 years.

He was born in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 30, 1941.

Glenn is predeceased by Jeanne Ann Hass Pierce, his loving wife of 53 years and parents, Glenn and Margaret Dorsey.

He is lovingly remembered by son Jason Dorsey of Spokane, Wash., and survived by sister Jo Ann in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and nephew David in Miami, Fla.

He graduated from Nebraska and played football for the Cornhuskers. He went back to college in 1989, to Gonzaga University in Spokane and graduated with a master’s degree in accounting in 1991.

He was drafted into the Army after college and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He built a career in the accounting field in the automotive industry in Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Arizona and Washington. After graduating from GU, he opened an accounting firm in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and then moved to Rathdrum, Idaho.

He was a great father, devoted husband and a loyal friend who was there when needed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for recreation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Rifle Association — a group Glenn supported avidly.

Jeanne Ann (Haas Pierce) Dorsey, 71

Feb. 17, 1947 — June 30, 2018

Jeanne Ann (Haas Pierce) Dorsey passed away at the North Idaho Advance Care Hospital in Post Falls, Idaho, on June 30, 2018, at the age of 71 years.

She was born in Owatonna, Minn., on Feb. 17, 1947. Predeceased by her parents, Peter Haas and Dr. Sara Pierce Haas, as well as her brother, Gerald Haas, and her sister, Arlene Haas Oshman.

She was survived by, at the time, her loving husband, Glenn Dorsey, of 53 years, of Rathdrum, Idaho, and her son, Jason Dorsey of Spokane, Wash. Jeanne is also lovingly remembered by numerous nephews and nieces: Joel Haas, Jeff Haas, Gene Haas, Gerald Haas Jr., Glenn Haas, Julie Anne Hass, Peter Oshman, Jim Oshman and Mary Lou Oshman. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in English and Mankato State Teachers College with a BS in education from 1969 to 1972.

She married Glenn Dorsey in August of 1965, in Lincoln, Neb.

She taught English until she developed multiple sclerosis and she continued as a substitute teacher. Jeanne was a very compassionate person; a loving wife and mother who looked on the bright side of things. She was a prolific calligrapher and wrote beautiful hand notes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local pet shelter in Jeanne’s memory.

A memorial service honoring the couple will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Bell Tower Funeral Home and Crematory, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.

Interment will be scheduled at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery at a later date for Glenn and Jeanne.
