Mar. 19, 1969 — WRESTLING LETTERS

Varsity letter wrestling awards were presented to 16 SHS boys Friday: Mike Larson, Art Oliver, Larry Timblin, Kent Lyons, Terry Mace, Bill Gee, Bruce Lindgren, Steve Johnson, Rich Johnson, Dennis Medick, Ricky Larson, Mike Dreisbach, Rocky Larson, Larry Dawson, Mike Hook and Dale Jeffres. Speakers included Head Coach Chuck Schoonover and asst. coach Larry Miller.

WAY CLEARED FOR BRIDGE

Bridge construction bids open March 31 for the new Bridge St. span across Sand Creek. Before bids could be advertised, Sandpoint’s city council had to approve an agreement with Idaho’s Dept. of Highways, in which the state will pay one-third of construction costs, to a maximum of $50,000. This is in lieu of the state building a replacement span at Cedar St. as part of a highway relocation program. It will be three to four weeks before the city closes the old span completely. Traffic will then be diverted over the Cedar St. span during the construction period.

WOLFE IS FHA REPRESENTATIVE

Rebecca Wolfe, SHS junior, has been chosen by the local Future Homemakers of American club to represent the Sandpoint Chapter at the FHA convention in Lewiston March 27-28.

Mar. 19, 1919 — BUYS OUT PARTNER

E.H. Aaron is now sole proprietor of the R & A store, having bought out the interest of H.A. Replogle. Messrs. Replogle and Aaron came here from Pennsylvania nearly 11 years ago and founded the business from which Mr. Replogle now retires, The retiring partner will not re-engage in business for the present, and will remain here to enjoy a summer’s outing in the ideal recreation spot of the northwest.

SOLDIERS GET $60 BONUS

Mrs. Ella M. Farmin, chairman of the home service committee of the local Red Cross chapter, announces that the committee has the blanks and information needed by returned soldiers in sending for their $60 bonus. Application must be accompanied by the solder’s original discharge papers, and one copy of the discharge is to be retained by the solder.

LOCAL BRIEFS

Dan Reichert, the well-known barber, returned Sunday morning from service overseas. Mr. Reichert was drafted in June and on the front lines the first of September.

Morton Moran, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Moran, returned from a long period of service overseas Sunday.

Word has been received that Clarence Billips of Hope died of pneumonia in Germany, where he is with the Sandpoint boys.
