A Marion woman killed in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday has been identified as 44-year-old Tiffany Hamdan, according to Marion Fire District Chief Katie Mast.
Hamdan, a firefighter with the Marion department for four years, died after becoming trapped under a vehicle near Yaak at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
Trooper Eric Power said Monday that a male driver was attempting to rock the vehicle back and forth from inside when Hamdan somehow slipped underneath the vehicle and became trapped.
“It was just a tragic accident, and it was a huge loss for the department,” Mast said.
According to Mast, Hamdan left behind four children, including three adult daughters and a 14-year-old son.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
Hamdan’s family and friends set up a Gofundme account to help with Hamdan’s funeral costs and to help support her teenage son.
