Dorothy Lee Plummer
Dorothy Lee Plummer, our Mom, Mama, Grams, Nana B, and Great Grandma, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
She was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Macomb, Ill., as one of 12 children. She married John F. Plummer, the love of her life, on Feb. 19, 1949, in Macomb. Together they had seven children.
In 1958, they moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area. Their home became the home of all things stray — dogs, cats and kids. “The more the merrier,” she would say! Mom enjoyed anyone who was a “good eater” and she fed them well. She resided in southern California until 1995 when she relocated to Post Falls, Idaho, to be closer to family.
She had a love for kids of all ages and would babysit at the drop of a hat. Her family was her greatest joy; she loved and enjoyed her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids immensely. She also loved clean laundry and was a “stain expert,” she could get a stain out of anything.
Dorothy was a sports fan. She loved her Dodgers, Lakers and she was forever a Gonzaga fan, which she referred to as “her boys.”
She is survived by four daughters: Linda (Jesse) Roman, Brenda (Robb) Erickson, LouAnn (Bill) Andrade-Javier and Joni (Morgan) Noesen; grandchildren, Christy Johnson, John Plummer, Kelly (Bryan) West, Jennifer Plummer, Josh Plummer, Tracy (Brett) Spencer, Jenalee Weber, Christopher Roman, Riley Noesen, Bradley Noesen, Kaden Noesen, Mele Andrade-Javier, Gavin Noesen and Emma Noesen; and great-grandchildren, Christian Roman, Mia Roman and Lucas West.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Plummer; and three sons: John Wilson Plummer, Randy Plummer and John Plummer Jr. She waited 35 years to be rejoined with her true love.
She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Memorial service to be held at a later date, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, Calif.
