Ruth J. Mudd, 88

Ruth J. Mudd passed away on March 1, 2019, one day before her 89th birthday, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at Kootenai Health Hospital.

Ruth was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to James and Luella Roden, on March 2, 1930. She married James M. Mudd Jr. on Sept. 5, 1945, in Tacoma, Wash., and together they had four children.

Ruth wanted to care for people, so she went back to school and received her RN license in 1976 while living in Ventura, Calif. She became a nurse at Kootenai Medical Center and retired from there in 1997.

Ruth loved being with family, was an avid quilter and had a large collection of roosters and chickens, as well as Betty Boop figures.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, James M. (Jean) Mudd III of Chico, Calif., Stephen N. Mudd of Point Baker, Alaska, Robyn L. (John) Yankey of Post Falls, Idaho and David W. (Pat) Mudd of Spokane Valley, Wash.; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a very caring and compassionate woman who will be missed, by not only her family but by her many friends at the Kingdom Hall in Post Falls. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please view and sign Ruth’s online guest book at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
