More than just a trend, living a “clean” life is something more and more people are striving toward. Whether it’s eliminating processed foods from our diet or using chemical-free household products, there is always something one can do to improve the quality of life for ourselves and our children.

This month, 7B Women hosts Kara Hicks, a health and wellness blogger of The Whole Momma, who will speak on “Five Ways to Detox Your Day.” As a wife and a mom to three children, Kara’s mission is to educate moms about whole food and healthy living. She is a self- proclaimed research nerd and enjoys speaking and educating moms all over the country.

Kara’s Instagram has over 10,000 followers and she has also been a featured guest on the Whole 30’s website.

“I met Kara through the magic of Instagram two years ago and was immediately drawn to her infectious personality and real-life approach to making our homes and lives as clean and natural as possible,” said 7B Women board member Jenn Markwardt. “What I love about Kara is that she understands the ‘whys’ behind making swaps in our everyday routines to create optimal long-term health. I’m excited she’ll be sharing her wealth of knowledge on everything from cleaning products to food and beauty.”

The 7B Women’s April luncheon will take place on Tuesday, April 9, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tango Café and is open to everyone in the community, men and women. The cost is $21 or $16 if you are a member of 7B Women, Inc. Individual memberships cost $50 per year and can be paid online at the group’s website, 7BWomen.com.

Please note that due to the high participation in the past and so Tango Café can adequately prepare for the luncheon, pre-registration is highly encouraged.

If people would like an opportunity to promote their business at the luncheon, attendees are asked to bring an item to raffle and will be given a “minute with the mic” during the course of the luncheon. Because of the number of raffle items that have been donated in recent months and the time constraints of the luncheon, 7B Women is limiting the opportunity for a minute with the mic to current 7B Women members only.

Register online at 7BWomen.com and you can also purchase your raffle tickets ahead of time to avoid standing in line at check in and optimizing your networking time. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

Clines giving talk on endearing relationships

With February upon us, thoughts turn to Valentine’s Day. Whether you love it or dread it, it is a time to reflect and focus on nurturing the relationships in our lives. Over the years, many of us here in Sandpoint have turned to world renowned psychiatrist and author Foster Cline to guide us through those complicated moments. Whether it is a relationship with a child or a spouse, Dr. Cline has provided us with thoughtful advice through his books and countless local speaking engagements.
