BOISE — Sandpoint baseball got in the win column on Friday afternoon with a 7-3 win over Mountain Home in the Bucks Bags Tournament.
They eventually split a pair of games with a 12-2 loss to Skyview several hours later.
Freshman Ethan Butler did it all on the mound for the Bulldogs in the win over Mountain Home. The freshman struck out five batters in four innings, while only walking four.
Meanwhile, sophomore Cameron Garcia and Billy Brackett led the Bulldogs with two hits apiece.
In the second game, Skyview’s offense was simply too much for the Bulldogs.
Two-way player Jesse Fuentes did it all for the Hawks by fanning four Bulldog batters, then going 2-4 at the plate while driving in three RBIs.
The Bulldogs (1-5) look to rebound against fellow 4A school Minico at 1 p.m. local time at Capital High School.
