Meet Twyla Jensen, a multi-talented, customer service-oriented, warm-hearted good Samaritan, athlete and artist who helps people with their credit and has a knack for creativity.

Generation: I am at the end of the Baby Boomer generation but like to think of myself somewhere between Baby Boomer and Gen X.

Career and community involvement: My career for the past 10 years has been helping people repair and restore their credit and raise their credit scores. I was a mortgage broker for 16 years so I have a very strong financial background. I volunteer with ladies from Union Gospel Mission (as needed) to go through their credit reports and take the fear out of dealing with credit difficulties and collections. Usually, this is done just as the residents are getting ready to leave the program. I also teach alcohol ink painting classes.

Parental status: My husband and I have one beautiful teenage daughter.

1. Why is creating art an important part of your life?

Art allows me to be creative and relaxed. The main career can be somewhat stressful and art allows me to escape that stress.

2. What motivated you to start a credit repair company?

After the mortgage and housing crash, I decided that I wanted to help people recover from the credit portion of that recession. Education is a key to rebuilding credit and there is a huge lack of education when it comes to credit. I also wrote a book to teach consumers about credit. “Credit is Like Pizza,” available on Amazon.

3. What do you think your generation's legacy will be?

Unfortunately we are leaving the planet in a bit of a mess. Hopefully, we will start to remedy that and get a better handle on recycling and reusing.

4. What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

That I’m an artist and that I teach art. Everyone who knows me knows that I am an avid athlete (I cycle and run) but not everyone knows about my art.

5. Where can you be found when you're taking a day off from life?

At home creating something artistically and watching either of my favorite teams compete (Atlanta Braves or Vancouver Canucks) or old movies.
