MAY 2: Special giving day
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 6 years, 8 months AGO
What I consider the heart (Coeur) of our community will occur on May 2, during the 24-hour day of giving called Idaho Gives.
I am incredibly proud to participate with our community’s nonprofits at our first Idaho Gives Block Party. The event will take place at the Human Rights Education Institute, the Museum of North Idaho and The Carousel near City Park. Nonprofits will be celebrated and events from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. will bring together nonprofit staff, board members and the public with free admissions to the Museum and Carousel, as well as a Corn Hole Tournament, Food Trucks and other opportunities to engage the community in fundraising.
Idaho Gives is a day to pick your favorite nonprofits, and simply give. It’s that easy. Any donation you make has the potential of being multiplied through matching gifts, golden tickets and other prize drawings throughout the 24-hour period.
Idaho Gives allows me to have a direct impact on a variety of nonprofits representing causes I believe in. Thursday, May 2 is a day to get involved in something big that will have a ripple effect throughout our community and state.
The overall statewide goal is to raise $1.7 million for Idaho nonprofits, that is $1 for every Idahoan. Let’s show the rest of the state how supportive, involved and passionate we are about Kootenai County causes. Donate to a cause you care about on May 2 at IdahoGives.org.
