POST FALLS — Natalie Sell’s grand slam in the seventh inning broke a 5-all tie and powered the visiting Vikings past the Trojans in the first game of the 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader.

Alexis Blankenship’s RBI double earlier in the inning tied it at 5 for Coeur d’Alene (8-6, 5-6 5A IEL). Halle Kane hit a two-run homer in the fifth to put the Viks on top 4-3.

Kelsey Horn hit a two-run single in the fourth to put Post Falls (9-10, 3-9) up 3-2.

In the second game, Bubba Gleaves drove in three runs, two on a third-inning single, and Kelsey Horn went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored, including a two-run double in the fourth.

Sophie Nungesser of Post Falls scattered four hits in the second game, and struck out four.

Post Falls travels to Sandpoint on Thursday to conclude the regular season. Next up for Coeur d’Alene is the 5A Region 1 tournament, which begins next Tuesday.

MOSCOW — Alaina Pruitt hit a two-run triple in the fifth inning of the first game to give Lakeland the lead, then added a two-run single later in the 12-run inning as the Hawks, who had already wrapped up the 4A Inland Empire League title, split with the Bears.

Harley See went 3 for 3 and scored four runs in the first game for Lakeland (7-14, 6-2 4A IEL). Haylee Smitt went 3 for 3 and scored twice.

Taylor Woolley went 3 for 4 in the second game for the Hawks, and Mia O’Hara hit a solo homer.

Moscow finished 3-5 in league, tied with Sandpoint.

Lakeland wraps up the regular season Thursday at Timberlake.

PRIEST RIVER — Jaycee Jerome homered in both games and drove in eight runs as the Tigers swept the Spartans in Intermountain League play.

“Jaycee hit the ball really well all day,” said Timberlake coach Casi Lupinacci, whose team finished with 42 hits on the day. “We just hit the ball really well all day today.”

Lily Carhart drove in five runs in the second game and Becca Malloy struck out seven in the opener for Timberlake.

Timberlake (14-1, 12-0 IML), which has won 12 straight games, hosts Lakeland on Thursday.

Priest River is (10-8, 8-4) and will be the second seed to next week’s 3A District 1 tournament starting next Tuesday at Timberlake High.

“They’re defintely a team that could take one from us if we’re not careful,” Lupinacci said of Priest River.

KELLOGG — Piper Rainio hit a walkoff grand slam in the first game, then hit another grand slam and drove in six runs in the nightcap, leading the Wildcats to an Intermountain League sweep of the Badgers at Kellogg Middle School.

Kellogg (4-8 in IML and overall) will be the third seed to the 3A District 1 tournament starting next Tuesday at Timberlake High, facing Priest River in the opening round at 4 p.m.

Gracie Sawyer went 4 for 5 with four RBIs in the second game for Kellogg, which concludes the regular season at St. Maries on Thursday.

GRANGEVILLE — Leadoff hitter Elizabeth Ragan drove in 10 runs — five in each game — as the visiting Lumberjacks swept the Bulldogs in Central Idaho League play on Monday.

Ragan was 5 for 7 and scored six runs in the opener for St. Maries (7-4, 6-2 CIL), and was 2 for 4 with three runs in the nightcap.

Madison Cordell went 5 for 5 with three doubles and six RBIs in the first game for the Lumberjacks. Gracie Barden went 4 for 6 with five RBIs, Amber Rose Walrod was 4 for 4, and Kirsten Miller was 4 for 5 with four RBIs and five runs.

St. Maries is scheduled to play host to Kellogg today in a doubleheader at 4 p.m.
