Cardinals swing past Spokane

POST FALLS — Devinne Amesquita, Ashlyn Winn and Madi Mott each homered in the fifth inning for North Idaho College in a 10-2 win over the Community Colleges of Spokane in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Post Falls High.

Winn and Mott each hit two-run home runs in the inning for NIC. Mott also had a two-run single in the first inning, finishing the first game with four RBIs.

In the nightcap, NIC beat Spokane 15-12. A box score was not available.

NIC (26-9, 20-5) faces Blue Mountain on Friday in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at Post Falls High.

Spokane is 14-21, 10-17.
