Presented by the Coeur d’Alene Art Association, this art exhibit and sale of work by area artists takes place May 10-11 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Building 3. Admission and parking are free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, with an opening reception from 5 to 8. Stop by for a glass of wine before heading downtown to the Coeur d’Alene ArtWalk. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sponsors for Artists Showcase are A Mini Storage on Third, Timberland, Frame of Mind Gallery and Big Mountain Accounting & Taxes. Culinary sponsors are Bakery By The Lake at Parkside and Pastry and More.

Artist Showcase provides an opportunity to view and purchase fine art at reasonable prices that can bring a strong sense of beauty and vitality to living and work spaces. Many of the works are North Idaho-inspired pieces including scenic, floral, wildlife and figurative works, while others explore less conventional painting techniques such as collage, mixed media, textural and dimensional art. It’s also an excellent time to connect with the artists to get a sense of their personal goals and why and how they work. Many of the artists will be painting during the show.

Participating artists include Lorna Barrowman, Kathy Copeland, Noel Cornelius, Ada German, Judy Hohl, Jackie Jewett, Janet Launhardt, Barbara Lee, Diane Markley, Judy Minter, Marlee Phillips, Joanne Reeds, Judith Sanders-Wood, Ginger Rose, Harriett Masterson, Carol Maddux, Avis Stafford, Yvonne Benzinger, Alisa Shibler, Helga Tacke, Karen Conrad, Joyce Holst, Zac Placenia, Cobie Schuchard and our NIC Scholarship Winner, Britney Fink. Watch for their work in other venues, including Frame of Mind Gallery in Coeur d’Alene.
