Carolyn Faye Fleming, 82
Carolyn Faye Fleming went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was born on Oct.17, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Augustus and Omie Coker and is survived by one sister, Beverly McKinney. She was known as “Puggy” to her family.
She met Robert Glen Fleming when he was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. He swept her off her feet and headed to the Pacific Northwest. After a brief stay in Seattle, they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and there they raised four children: Pamela Diane (Webb), Roxanne Arlene (Webb), Rhonda Gail (Sand) and Robert Glen Fleming, Jr.
Robert (“Bob”) and Carolyn had six grandchildren: Robert, Jessie, Sara, Mittu, Abel and A.J., and she had 12 great-grandchildren: Kylie, Taryn, Emma, Ciara, Tanner, Ethan, Sophia, Lily, Elli, Tucker, Aiden and Ada.
In her younger years, she was a bowler and played softball here in Coeur d’Alene. She kept the books for their trucking business and she was a stay at home mom and homemaker. After her children were grown and out of the house, she went to work for Smith’s Warehouse Market in Hayden, Idaho and then to Tidyman’s Warehouse in Coeur d’Alene until she retired.
She was a caring mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for her grandson A.J., as they lived with her the better part of his life. She enjoyed retirement, meeting new friends and attending the Candlelight Fellowship Church in Dalton.
Her husband, Bob, the “Big Rabbit” passed away Nov. 7, 1986.
Arrangements are by English Funeral Chapel. At Carol’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers you may donate to mom’s favorite charity, Good Samaritan Rehabilitation, 901 Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
