Sandpoint softball comes up short on senior night

With senior night festivities fresh in their minds, the Bulldogs attempted a comeback push with a four-run fourth inning — courtesy of — yet the Trojans responded with nine unanswered runs to close out their 20-5 win over Sandpoint.
Fittingly, seniors Clistie Adams, Tanis Davis, Natalie Petit and Ember Dewey all recorded hits on their senior nights.
Post Falls’ Bubba Gleaves went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and four runs scored, including a two-run double in the sixth. Kaycie Barber went 3 for 5 with four RBIs and four runs scored for Post Falls (10-10). Kelsey Horn was 3 for 5 and scored three times for the Trojans, and Sophie Nungesser struck out six in five innings of work.
Sandpoint (3-13) will travel to Lake City for a game that starts at 4 p.m. After that, they will play Moscow in the first round of the 4A District 1 Tournament on Tuesday May 7.
