Marian Bradbury, 91
Marian June Mason-Bradbury, 91, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice House on Feb. 18, 2019. She was born June 1, 1927, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and was the youngest of three children born to Jack and Grace Mason. She attended school in Coeur d’Alene in the 1930s and 40s, and graduated from beauty school in 1946. Marian became an accomplished roller skater in her teen years and also reigned as Miss Coeur d’Alene Runner-up in 1946.
Marian was married to Arnold Elwin Bradbury on Nov. 21, 1947. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary last November with their family. They raised four children in Rathdrum where they resided their entire married life; she was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her grandchildren immensely.
Marian worked for a short time at Ponsness Warren in Rathdrum. Many remember her as a volunteer at school when immunizations were given, saying she comforted them as they waited in line for their shots. She was a huge sports fan of her children and grandchildren, who played many sports from grade school through high school. She enjoyed oil painting, flower gardening, and in her later years, she spent many hours coloring.
Marian is survived by her husband and children, Dennis and Becky, Neil, Lawrence and Penny and Jody. She was blessed to have 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy; sister, Dorothy and grandson, Jason.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Yates Funeral Home – Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., with a reception to follow. The family requests memorials to be given to the Schneidmiller Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
