Heather, Plue sit atop LPOIC derby

SANDPOINT — Blake Heather upset the adult rainbow trout standings of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s spring derby on Thursday.

Heather assumed the top spot in the standings with a 17.34-pound rainbow that measured 34 1/4 inches.

Thursday also saw the entry of Dan Harder and Donald Coleman into the adult rainbow standings. Harder and Coleman both hauled in 15-pounders, which put them in third and fourth place, respectively.

Ed Weiner and Moose Zema, meanwhile, gained entry to the adult Mackinaw standings on Thursday with 12- and 11-pound lake trout, good for fourth and sixth place, respectively.

Scott Plue still leads the adult laker competition with a 25.56-pounder.

Ashland McCorkle and Jace Chapman remain atop the Youth A and B standings. Josie Morrison caught a 3.32-pound fish of unspecified species, which put her in third in the Youth B standings.
