Donald G. Faulkner

Donald G. Faulkner, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away at the age of 91 on April 30, 2019, in Hayden.
Donald was second of three children born to Earl and Edith Faulkner on Sept. 1, 1927, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Don grew up in Coeur d’Alene, where he attended school and was a lifelong resident of the Inland Empire region, primarily in North Idaho.
In 1945, he joined the United States Army Air Corp and served until 1948. Don obtained the rank of Sergeant while serving in the military and was proud of the World War II Victory Medal he received.
Not long after his discharge from the service, Don and Laura married and had three children; daughter, Jeri followed by two sons, Max and Doug.
Don began his career early in life, working in the long haul trucking industry and retiring in 2003. Don often commented that he had driven 1 million miles during his trucking days on the open road.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, boating and hunting. Don also enjoyed other hobbies including bowling, dancing and skeet shooting. Don was a champion shooter at the Hauser Lake Gun Club where he spent time with friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Jackson. He is survived by his three children, sister, Vickie (Ray) Johnson of Coeur d’Alene and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Hayden Country Guest Home assisted living; Schneidmiller Hospice House and Don’s long-time friend Patricia, for all the loving care they provided.
Don requested that no services be held.
