Heather, Plue top LPOIC derby finishers

SANDPOINT — Blake Heather and Scott Plue were the top adult finishers in the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club’s 2019 spring derby.

Heather finished the adult rainbow trout contest with a 17.68-pounder, while Plue took the top spot in the Mackinaw standings with a 25.56-pound lake trout.

Brock Woodson upset the eventful Mack standings late in the derby with a 21.20-pound laker that put him in fifth place and earned him Mac of the Day honors.

Carson Laybourne was the top finisher in the junior Mackinaw standings.

Ashland McCorkle led the Youth A standings, while Jace Chapman led the Youth B standings.

Ray Allison Sr. held the honors in the German brown trout standings through much of the contest.

Derby awards will presented at a ceremony on Saturday, May 11 at the Bonner Mall in Ponderay.

The ceremony starts at 7 p.m.
