Nearing State Tourny, Libby has 10-6 record

The Libby High School softball team is 10-6 for the season with the State Tournament looming at the end of May.
Libby Head Coach Dean Thompson said last Tuesday that the Loggers seem to have a mixture of good days and bad days, but noted that they have faced some tough opponents in recent weeks.
The Loggers also have good depth on the mound, where junior Kiera Ward has been throwing a strong season.
Yet, Ward has also been backed up by senior Linsey Walker, and the junior varsity’s freshman pitcher Taylor Munro even faced some varsity hitters at the Frenchtown Tournament in April.
“It was kind of nice to get her in there,” Thompson said.
Overall the players are doing well and working hard, Thompson said.
Libby plays tonight at Remp Field, where they will host Eureka in the Battle of the Kootenai. Junior varsity is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and varsity for 6 p.m.
