Columbia Falls woman ID'd as victim of fatal crash

Authorities have identified a Columbia Falls woman as the victim of a fatal crash on U.S. 2 near the airport on May 7.
According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Barbara Jean Allison died at the scene of the crash.
Allison was driving a Subaru that reportedly was southbound, but stopped on the shoulder of the roadway for an unknown reason. Allison’s vehicle was struck on the driver side by a dump truck while she attempted to make a U-turn.
A 63-year-old female passenger in the Subaru was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Her condition was not known on Wednesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
