Pain Management of North Idaho announces new physician

Pain Management of North Idaho is proud to announce the addition of Clinton M. Thome, MD, to its practice.

Thome is a fellowship-trained pain management physician and completed his anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He believes in a comprehensive pain management approach and is highly skilled in multiple modalities, including both ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided injection therapy, spinal cord stimulation (SCS), peripheral nerve blocks, joint injections and pain medication management.

Dr. Thome will be joining the staff of Pain Management of North Idaho, PLLC and North Idaho Pain Center, LLC. Pain Management of North Idaho is an interventional chronic and acute pain clinic in Coeur d’Alene with a dual accredited ambulatory surgery center located in the same building in Riverstone.

Mutungi joins Verdis as a project engineer

Banet Mutungi was born and raised in Uganda and graduated from Uganda’s Makerere University with a degree in civil engineering in 2011 and worked as a civil engineer in Uganda from 2011 to 2018.

In 2013, he traveled to New Zealand for training in rainwater harvesting and construction of concrete tanks. Mutungi took what he learned and applied it in his home country, which has two distinct seasons: Wet and dry.

Mutungi has a professional certification in project management from the Project Management Institute (USA) and is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. As a project engineer with Verdis, Mutungi’s duties will include project management, construction management, engineering, superintendent, quality control and project safety.

Borrenpohl receives international AACRAO endorsement

Dr. Teresa Borrenpohl of North Idaho College has earned the Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (AACRAO). She is among an elite group of only 27 individuals internationally to earn this endorsement, which signifies that Borrenpohl has developed skills in the field of strategic enrollment management to meet the current and future challenges in the industry.

Borrenpohl is the Enrollment Services Center manager at NIC. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master of public administration from Montana State University and a doctorate of educational leadership from Idaho State University.

To complete the Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement Program research component, Borrenpohl implemented a recruitment strategy by developing a program that provided five purposeful high school visits to the schools in NIC’s service area. The five visits included applying to college, learning about the senior year expectations of the enrollment process, applying for scholarships and financial aid, completing academic assessments, and registering for courses. As a result of this program, Borrenpohl found a 25 percent increase in service area seniors matriculating to North Idaho College over the previous academic year.
