A 30-year-old Ronan area woman was killed in a one-vehicle rollover that occurred Wednesday, May 8 on a graveled road south of Ronan.

Tania Marie Old Horn was one of two occupants in a Pontiac sedan that was northbound on Hillside Road about 4 p.m., between Mohlman Pass Trail and Eagle Pass Trail, east of Kicking Horse Reservoir.

The other occupant, an unidentified adult male, was walking along the road when law enforcement arrived at 4:24 p.m.

According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Zach Miller, the driver lost control of the vehicle. It exited the roadway, went through a fence. The car struck a tree in the midst of overturning, and came to rest on its wheels.

Old Horn was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene by Lake County Sheriff/Coroner Don Bell. The male was transported to St. Luke Community Health for treatment of injuries.

According to Miller, there was no indication that seat belts were in use by either occupant. There was no conclusion as to who was the driver of the vehicle.

Bell offered condolences to the family of Old Horn for the loss of their loved one.
