The public is invited to join the Sandpoint United Methodist Church, 711 Main St., on Sunday, May 19, at 10:30 a.m. following worship for a salad luncheon followed by the congregation’s annual pie (and other desserts) auction.

Funds raised support United Methodist missionary, Katherine Parker, serving in Nepal. Parker’s work in Nepal focuses on adolescents, maternal and child health, education, and sanitation. This year funds will be used to help with covering dirt floors in village schools with wood.

Auctioneers will encourage bidders to bid often and bid high on the delicious homemade pies, cakes, cookies and more. The taste treats are delectable and tempting and successful bidders will not be disappointed.

Last year’s proceeds totaled over $2,000. In addition to supporting Ms. Parker, money was donated toward providing safe cooking stoves in remote villages. A portion of the funds were also used to remodel the Sandpoint United Methodist Church kitchen, which has produced free Thursday dinners to the community for the past 27 years.
