FOUNTAIN: Right for Lakes

Diane Fountain has proven to be fiscally responsible with taxpayer money and has brought transparency to the Lakes Highway District operations. She watches the budget closely and is dedicated to serving the constituents of the district. There has been no levy increase since she has been in office which is proven success of her financial experience and her promise to the taxpayer.

I have been following this election and find it concerning that Scott Jordan who is running against her is not releasing any information about his current position on the City Council for Dalton Gardens. In March, the city of Dalton tried to recall all members of the Council which Jordan barely survived. How can he properly represent the people in Lakes Highway District while serving on the Dalton City Council? It appears to be a conflict of interest as the city of Dalton is within the Lakes Highway jurisdiction — he would have to recuse himself on many items before the board including the budget where monies are levied for the cities which would include Dalton Gardens. He would be splitting his loyalty between the two positions and one should question what his motive is.

Please join me in voting for incumbent, Diane Fountain, as Commissioner for Lakes Highway District on Tuesday, May 21. Her loyalty to the taxpayer is obvious!
