Libby prepared heading into divisional tourny

Heading into divisionals this weekend, the Libby High School tennis team still had a few things to work on, but had come a long way from the beginning of the year.
Last Friday, the Loggers struggled in the singles brackets more than they had the last time they faced Columbia Falls.
“Columbia Falls was just more prepared,” said Libby Head Coach Kyle Hannah. “Overall, their kids performed a little better than us today, and that happens. We’ve got a week to figure it out.”
The Loggers had a relatively inexperienced team starting the year.
“We’re going from swinging and missing the ball, to the kids are are actually tennis players,” Hannah said. “They’re hitting the ball. They’re using correct fundamentals, correct strokes.”
“They’re having fun and enjoying the game,” he said. “Playing it how it should be played.”
Hannah said that they were excited to see what “these young Loggers can do” at divisionals.
“Led by our three seniors,” he added.
Libby’s seniors are this season are Jessika Jones, Marissa Wood and Zach Carter.
Carter has been taking some losses in singles play, but also teaming up with junior Trey Thompson for doubles matches that have resulted in solid wins and hard-fought losses.
