Mael, a freshman from Lakeland High in Rathdrum, was second in the 200-meter dash (25.64 seconds and 4x400 relay (4:08.21), third in the 4x100 (49.95) and sixth in the 100 (12.72) at the NWAC Championships on Monday and Tuesday at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore. Both men’s and women’s teams from Spokane finished second in the meet.
