Accident on Westside Road

BONNERS FERRY — A single vehicle rollover accident occurred about 1.7 miles north on Westside Road around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.

According to information from the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, it appeared that the driver, Randy Rubringer, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, veered off the road while traveling south, hit the hillside, then spun around across the road.

Life Flight was called in and Rubringer was transported to the hospital and then taken to Kootenai Medical Center. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a warrant for a blood draw was obtained and charges are pending for driving under the influence.

North Bench Fire with mutual aid from South Boundary Fire, Boundary Ambulance, Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, and Life Flight all responded to the scene.
