Dorothy Geraldine Wolfe Babb, 94
Dorothy Geraldine Wolfe Babb, 94, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, took her last breath at 1:35 a.m. on May 28, 2019, and peacefully entered heaven, letting go of the hands of her granddaughter, Melissa Sharon, and her daughter, Charlene Babb. She was reunited in heaven with her husband, Charles Lester Babb; her baby boy, Chucky; her daughter, Vicki Townsend; her mother and father; 11 siblings from the Wolfe family and many who called her friend.
Dorothy helped her parents, Otto and Lydia Wolfe, clear land of sagebrush in Nyssa, Ore. She proudly attended and graduated from Adrian High School. She worked on the B17 at Lockheed in the efforts of World War II, where she helped our country in a time of need and was one proud “Rosie the Riveter.”
She enjoyed a life of adventure — being a military wife, traveling domestically and internationally, enjoying everything that came around the corner. Later in life she graduated with an associate of science degree from West Valley College in Saratoga, Calif. She was 50 years old.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and always had a song to sing and a story ready to tell. She adored her nieces and nephews and spent many family vacations sharing her love and laughter with them. She loved playing chess and proudly taught it to her children and grandchildren, as well as many students in the Coeur d’Alene School District. She attended their plays, sports events, concerts, and musical events and proudly sat in the front row or bleacher cheering them on proudly.
Dorothy was a huge fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and faithfully watched their games in the comfort of her home that she shared with her loving daughter, Roxanna Babb. She lived life with a positive outlook, grace, humor, love and faith in her blessed Lord. During the last few days of her life, she was able to muster up enough energy for an “I love you” or an expression of her love to those that surrounded her.
She was fiercely loyal to her family and is survived by her 28 grandchildren and her four remaining children, Linda McGuire, Roxanna Babb, Gregory Babb and Charlene Babb, as well as her sisters, Kathy Aulbach of Nampa, Idaho, and Twila Wolfe of Salem, Ore.
Dorothy was a recipient of the incredible warmth, professionalism and love of the North Idaho Hospice program that helped her on the journey of leaving this world for Heaven. She spent her remaining days at the Schneidmiller Hospice House, where they treated her and her family with the utmost dignity, respect, love and honor, and we are incredibly grateful.
A graveside service for Dorothy Babb will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at the Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way.
