Polson High School runner Bea Frissell finished her illustrious high school running career by breaking her own personal, and school records.

Frissell, who owns virtually every Lady Pirates’ school record at Polson as both a cross country and distance runner, decided to break her records en route to hoisting state gold.

Frissell captured first place in both the girls 1,600, and 3,200-meter run capturing two Montana High School Association Class A state trophies May 23-25 at the Laurel Sports Complex at Laurel High School. She set a personal record in the 1,600 with a time of 5:00.10 and another personal record in the 3,200 with a time of 10:47.33.

Frissell, who has multiple offers from various colleges for not only her athletic but also her academic prowess, finished her Lady Pirates career as one of the most decorated Polson athletes in recent memory.

Frissell’s long-time teammate Gwen Seeley finished 21st in the 3,200 with a time of 13:49.57.

Barney climbing the ranks

Ronan junior runner Kinsley Barney was aiming to capture MHSA state gold of her own.

The junior placed fifth in the 100, and fourth in the 200.

Barney, who finished with a personal record time of 12.68 in the 100 and recorded a time of 26.44 in the 200, continues to become a vital member of a Ronan running program that is rebuilding it’s a way to prominence.

Ducharme excels in the long, triple jump.

Polson runner Mikaela Ducharme found her way to the podium on Montana’s biggest stage.

Ducharme wasn’t intimidated by the bright lights of state, and the senior made good on both her finals long jump and triple jump attempts of her career.

Ducharme finished fourth with a distance of 17-00.50 inches in the long jump, and fifth with a personal record of 35-10.00 in the triple jump.
