Okay, what happened to fall? We are not ready for winter, but we have fun things going on at the library to take your mind off of the cold.

Thursday, Nov. 7, Angela is hosting a Downton Abbey themed tea and coloring party.

Refreshments will be served and supplies will be provided to make place cards for a holiday table or a fall note to a friend. Vintage hats are welcome.

Our after-school movie will be shown on the second Friday this month due to our book sale. At 3:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, the Library will show the fourth installment of a popular Disney/Pixar animated series. Popcorn is provided. Check our website for the movie title.

In celebration of National Novel Writing Month (#NaNoWriMo), Gwen Florio will present a Humanities Montana Conversation program entitled “Five Steps to a Winning Novel” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Gwen is an award-winning journalist and author. She is currently the news editor of the Missoulian.

Refreshments will be served.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, Heather will teach a class on online shopping safety, just in time for holiday purchases. In this session Heather will address online scams and Internet safety.

Heather is also available for 30 minute one-on-one sessions to answer your technology related questions. Call the library to schedule an appointment.

Our Friday Night at the Library movie this month will show at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. This new live-action Disney release roared into theaters this spring (check our website for the title). We provide the popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and snacks.

Please be sure you are in the library before the doors lock at 6 p.m. We expect a full house.

Due to the incredible generosity of our community, we need to set some limits on what we can accept for book donations and when. Our new policy states that we will accept donations on Tuesdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. If you would like to donate more than two boxes of books, please call ahead.

We have received so many wonderful donations but we are running out of space for them. This will allow us to have volunteers on hand to help sort the donations immediately. For a detailed list of what we can and cannot accept please see our website or stop by the library.

The Library is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans’ Day and Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.

Visit our website www.northlakecountylibrary.org, our Facebook page, and check the calendar section for updates on the happenings at the Library.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like winter. Is there a better time to snuggle up under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate (with whip cream of course) and settle into a good book?

Can you believe our 70 and 80 degree days? It seems like we went from winter straight to summer (with a little spring thrown in too)! Well, these summer temperatures have got us thinking about our Family Summer Reading Program that begins June 12 at 10 a.m. Kendra has some really great programs and giveaways this year and once again. Stop in or check our Facebook page to see what this is all about. This program is open to everyone.
