Eureka spikers 1-1 in pool play at Western B

EUREKA — Florence swept Eureka in the quarterfinals on the first day of the Western B Divisional volleyball tournament held at Eureka High School on Thursday.

Eureka beat Loyola in five sets in the first round to advance to quarterfinals.

Florence swept Bigfork earlier in the day and will play Thompson Falls today at 5 p.m. in a semfinal game.

Thompson Falls went 2-0, beating Deer Lodge and Anaconda on the way to semifinals.

Bigfork will take on Missoula Loyola in loser-out play today at 11:45 a.m.

Deer Lodge and Mission will play at 10 a.m.

Eureka will face the loser of that game at 1:30 p.m. to determine which team advances to the fourth place game.

Anaconda will play either Bigfork or Loyola at 3:15 p.m.

The winner of the fourth place game at 6:45 p.m. gets a chance to play themselves back into contention by winning two more games, which would take that team to the championship game.

The third place game is Saturday at 10 a.m. and the final is at 11:45.

The top two teams earn a trip to the the state tournament in Bozeman on Nov. 14-16.
