Cardinals sweep Blue Mountain, clinch East Region

PENDLETON, Ore. — Journey Tupea had 13 kills and eight digs for North Idaho College in a 25-15, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of the Blue Mountain Timberwolves in Northwest Athletic Conference play Thursday night, clinching the outright East Region title.

NIC (26-3, 15-0 NWAC) will be the top seed from the region to the NWAC Championships Nov. 21-24 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.

Lake City High product Chloe Knudson had 14 digs and Hannah McPhetridge had five kills and two digs for NIC, which concludes the regular season at Treasure Valley in Ontario, Ore., tonight at 5 p.m. PST.

Amanda Kvamme had eight kills for Blue Mountain (7-22, 2-12).
