Tyler John Hendry, 32

Tyler John Hendry was born Oct. 9, 1987, in Coeur d’Alene, to Cathy Bell and John Hendry. Tyler lived life differently than most; he was always the first to help someone and always the first to put himself last. He would never hesitate to give anyone the shirt off his back (or his pants, if you asked). He never let the little things in life bring him down and always brought happiness and fun to wherever he was. Tyler’s largest contribution to the world was the mark he left on the hearts of everyone he knew and the happiness that he brought to each person he met.

In August of 2019, Tyler was diagnosed with colon cancer. As a representation of Tyler’s character, instead of being angry or sad about his diagnosis, his response was, “better me who can handle this, than someone else who can’t.” On Nov. 12, 2019, Tyler passed away at Kootenai Health. Although he was only 32, Tyler filled his life with more love, happiness, kindness and friendships than most do in a lifetime. His spirit will live on through each and every heart he has touched.

He left behind his mother, Cathy Bell; father, John Hendry; brother, Ryan Hendry; sister, Heather Meyer; brother, Jason Sprague; stepmother, Vanessa Hendry; stepfather, Steve Sprague; girlfriend, Khala Kronenberg; nephew, Avery Hendry; niece, Lily Hendry; nephew, Calder Hendry; niece, Burklee Hendry; nephew, Weston Hendry; nephew, Waylon Hendry; grandparents, Earl and Ginger Bell; grandmother, Sandra Hendry; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a countless number of friends that were considered his family and his uncle, Jeffery Bell, who was his biggest inspiration.

Tyler, we will all see you on your fishing boat in the Alaskan Heavens.

We are holding a memorial for Tyler at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at the Anthem Church in Hayden. His family and friends have started the Tyler Hendry Foundation to bring awareness to colon cancer and help the next person and family through their battle. Donations to the Tyler Hendry Foundation can be made at any Wells Fargo bank.

“Top of the world, God speaking.” “Let’s go drink some beer.” — Tyler Hendry
