Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Polson cross country team held their annual awards banquet in the Polson High School commons area.

A potluck format for food provided sustenance, while coach Matt Seeley acted as Master of Ceremonies to present various awards as well as acknowledge the growth he had observed among each of his runners.

Assistant coach Jenni Brown put together a slide show that capped the evening event.

The majority of the awards are self explanitory. The Golden Cone is an award conferred upon the recipient by peers as a runner who exemplifies the spirit of Polson cross country.

Pirate plaque preference Burger-larized by Bulldogs

At Smith Fields in Whitefish for the 2018 State A boys soccer championship, the Polson Pirates and the Northern A conference champion Bulldogs would put on quite a show in an energetic quest to claim the coveted state A crown last Saturday. This would be just the third foray to the championship match in the history of the Pirate boys’ soccer program, who hoped that the idiomatic expression “third time’s a charm” would play out in Polson’s favor.

The 2018-19 rendition of the Arlee Scarlets have to be rated as within the scope of a reloading phase given that the lion’s share of their offensive firepower returns along with further infusion from the transfer of Louetta Conko-Camel.
