BONNERS FERRY — Seventeen years of professional tattooing experience comes to Bonners Ferry by way of artist and business owner, Henry Huff.

Born in Chicago, Huff says he has been traveling for a long time. Prior to his landing in Bonners Ferry, he resided in Hawaii.

Huff has family in Bonners Ferry, and decided he wanted to be closer to his father who has made his home in the area for the last 12 years.

“I’ve tattooed all over the place,” said Huff, who said that he began this career path in his early 30s. “When I turned 30, I had been just doing regular work, and decided it was time to put up or shut up with my art.”

Huff explained that he has tattooed in a variety of locations such as in California, Washington, Illinois, Hawaii and even Japan.

Seventeen years ago, Huff walked into a shop on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Calif., and was offered the opportunity to apprentice and learn the tattooing trade.

Most recently, Huff owned and operated Rollin’ Gypsy Tattoo in Tacoma, Wash., and prior to that, another tattoo business in Lake Villa, Ill., named, Good Family Tattoo.

You won’t find an autoclave humming while you sit in the tattoo chair, or trays of soaking equipment waiting for sterilization in Huff’s shop. Huff employs single use, individually packaged tattoo equipment that is pre-sterilized, which is evident in the calmness and less-cluttered appearance of the shop.

Photographic examples of Huff’s work are available to view on Instagram at henry.huff.art. There you will find the many differing artistic styles at which Huff is adept. From traditional tattoo, to realism, watercolor, tribal, Japanese and portraiture, to name a few, Huff also says he is happy to do custom work.

“I have gotten real good response so far, clients have been coming in and the word is spreading really quickly,” said Huff. “Everybody’s been really friendly.”

Huff welcomes both appointments and walk-ins at this time and has gift certificates for sale.

The Trifekta Tattoo shop is located at 6424 Kootenai St. and can be reached by calling 208-267-2067.
