SANDPOINT — Bonners Ferry High School swimmer Julia Cummings competed on Saturday, Sept. 28 in her only home meet this year in Sandpoint.

Cummings — a senior who trains with the Sandpoint swim team while competing in meets as a Badger — placed second out of 15 finishers in the girls 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.37, and second out of eight finishers in the girls 100-yard backstroke (1:12.19).

“Please note that she was within 1/100th of a second on the 50 Free, and in both events, she was out touched by a 5A competitor,” said coach Greg Jackson.

The next swim meet is Friday, Oct. 11, at noon in Moscow.
