With the culmination of the Western A Divisional held in Frenchtown this past weekend, the Mission Valley will have a dozen area golfers competing in the State A tournament this weekend in Laurel.

The top four teams and top 30 individuals qualified. The Polson girls advanced their full team by virtue of their fourth place finish, while the entire Ronan Maiden squad placed among the top 30. For the boys, Polson Pirate Trey Kelley and Ronan Chief Ruben Couture both qualified as individuals by placing among the top thirty.

The top 15 received all-conference recognition. A quartet who hail from the Mission Valley include Polson’s Kelley (8th), Cali Cannon (8th), Esme Yarbrough (13th) and Ronan’s Macao Jackson (12th). Kelley, Cannon and Ellie Thiel turned in all-conference performances last season. Cannon wrapped up her final tournament last season as an all-stater.

Pirate plaque preference Burger-larized by Bulldogs

At Smith Fields in Whitefish for the 2018 State A boys soccer championship, the Polson Pirates and the Northern A conference champion Bulldogs would put on quite a show in an energetic quest to claim the coveted state A crown last Saturday.
