- The Blessing of the St. Francis of Assisi Statue and Blessing of the Animals will be held in Coeur d’Alene at 6 tonight at Pope St. Pius X Church, 625 E. - North Idaho Rx Opioid Solution Symposium takes place from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Kroc Center. - The Coeur d’Alene Soroptimist club is seeking nominations and sponsors for the Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon. The event honors seven local women for excellence in their field. Nominations are due Oct. 18. This event serves as a fundraiser for the club to support women and girls in the community. Funds raised help provide scholarships to women who are heads of households seeking to further their education and funds support the Soroptimist “Dream It Be It” career mentoring program for girls. - Heritage Health received a $25,000 community mission grant from Capture Cares, providing funds to help the community’s low-income individuals. Roughly 25% of Heritage Health patients are uninsured and 56% are considered to be low-income. This grant should help another 83 patients at Heritage Health this year and into 2020 get the care they need.
