Post Falls Nissan opens Cd'A location

Offering new and used vehicles, Coeur d’Alene Nissan has opened at 4301 Crown Ave. (in the former Blue Dog RV space, just north of Super 1 on the east side of U.S. 95).
Expanding from its Post Falls Nissan location where it offers services, hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. A new building will be built on property attached to the north. Owner is Jonah Namson.

Surf Shack opens on Appleway
“Bringing the southern taste up north,” according to owner Jake Latuseck, Surf Shack has opened in the former Dairy Queen building at 305 E. Appleway.
With its soft opening hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and the drive-through not open yet, seating is for 65 at tables, booths and a large round corner booth. Customers order at the counter and can pick up to go.

R Mutual Space on East Sherman
With an emphasis on “furnished, professional and flexible,” private suites and shared work spaces are offered in the office complex building called R Mutual Space at 2115 E. Sherman Ave.
The complex includes two conference rooms, a training classroom that seats 24, a kitchenette, a water-coffee area, a network printer and private phone booths. The shared work spaces have dedicated desks.

Blue Cross opens in Riverstone
Offering health care coverage and coordination for its members, Blue Cross of Idaho has opened new offices at 1812 N. Lakewood Drive in Riverstone.
The new facility will employ about 40 people when fully staffed for account management, sales support, customer service and care coordination. It includes modular work areas, training rooms and private offices.
Based in Meridian, Idaho, the not-for-profit mutual insurance company has more than 572,720 members and supports community organizations, programs and events that promote good health.

- A “coming soon” sign for Flame & Cork is on new construction on Government Way in Hayden.
- Shopko Optical will open Monday in its new space at 212 W. Ironwood.
- The Runge Furniture Clearance Center is closing Oct. 12 at 2424 N. Fourth. Sales are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Another business will be opening there. The building earlier was the Black Sheep store.
- Construction at the southwest corner of Kathleen and Fourth will be an apartment building.
- The old Sears space at Silver Lake Mall is being remodeled into two new places — Planet Fitness and The Flying Squirrel (a trampoline play place).
- Staybridge Suites hotel opens Oct. 22 at 1347 W. Riverstone.
- Alpine Animal Hospital (now on Best Avenue) is building a new place on Kathleen west of Mango Tree.
- Iron Pizza Co. will be at 104 Best.
- A sign on property in the northwest corner of U.S. 95 and Wyoming Avenue says “Equipment Hayden” and “Landlocked Marine.”
- BMC (Stock Building Supply) is building a new place at the northeast corner of Prairie and Huetter and will move there in November from Kathleen and U.S. 95.
- Black Lodge Brewing will be at 204 N. Third St.
- Shiki Sushi will be on Sherman.
- The Broker Sinclair Team of Keller Williams Realty CDA will move to 1052 W. Mill Ave.
- Coeur d’Alene Paving and CDA Redi Mix are building a new place at 3110 N. Government Way.
- The Bier Haus will be in the former Camera Corral building at 515 Sherman.
- STCU will open a branch in Rathdrum later in the year.
- A Wake Up Call Coffee place will be in the former Taco Time area at 2517 N. Fourth.
- The new Bakery by the Lake will be on Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive.
- Aesthetica Skin & Beauty Bar will be at 1113 E. Sherman. Holaday & Co. with soaps and lotions will be at 1109 Sherman in November.
- A Maverik gas station-convenience store is under construction at the southwest corner of Government Way and Dalton Avenue.
- AutoZone is building a new place at Highway 54 and Sylvan Lane in Athol.
- A new pub-eatery will open next to Vertical Earth on East Sherman.
- A Burger King is under construction at 3827 N. Ramsey (just south of Kathleen).
- Coeur d’Alene Vision Source will move from 850 Ironwood to a new building at 3879 N. Schreiber Way in November.
- Watch for Monarch Ramen & Noodle House in the former Syringa location on Fourth Street.
- A new building for Idaho Central Credit Union is under construction at 1327 W. Appleway.
- Bi-Mart will open a new store in the former Stein’s Family Foods building at 16102 N. Highway 41 in Rathdrum.
- Seasonal store Spirit Halloween is open in Silver Lake Mall. It has costumes and accessories for adults and kids and is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 to 6 Sunday.
- The former Burger King building at 216 Appleway has been sold to another fast-food vendor. Rumors are it’s Carl’s Jr., which would move.
- The new Hardwick Hardware is under construction at 3820 E. Mullan in Post Falls.
- The office of Physio One in Hayden moved to 280 W. Prairie.
- New businesses will be in the commercial area of the new Northern complex at Ramsey and Hanley.
- Walsh Law Group will be at 901 N. Fourth.
- Watch for an interesting development just north of the Government Way Safeway. The developer already has put in a cool water feature and evidently plans to have a coffee stand, car lot and rock shop.
- Ah. The right-turn lane of Dalton Avenue headed north onto U.S. 95 makes good sense since emergency vehicles come from there. Now we need a right-turn lane from Golf Course Road south onto Ramsey.
