Daphne Carroll added 16 kills for Lakeland (15-10, 4-0 4A IEL), which on Tuesday clinched its first 4A IEL volleyball title, and won its first volleyball league title since capturing the (3A) Intermountain League crown in 2003.

Abbey Neff had 26 assists for the Hawks, Olivia Cooper 17 digs, Keely DeVore two aces.

“We played well tonight,” Lakeland coach Kelsie Badger said. “It was fun to watch our girls play hard and rally for every point. Olivia Cooper had some awesome ups to keep the play alive. Both Katy and Daphne had an awesome hitting night and attacked the ball aggressively. Abbey did a great job mixing up the sets and controlling the tempo on our side. I’m very proud of our girls tonight.”

Lakeland will host the 4A Region 1 championship match on Oct. 24 at Hawk Court, with the winner advancing to state. The Hawks will play the winner of the Sandpoint-Moscow match on Oct. 22.

Sandpoint is 0-3 in league; Moscow is 1-2.

But first, Lakeland wraps up its regular season next Tuesday at home vs. Timberlake.
