COEUR d’ALENE — Once the first one went in, it got contagious for the Cardinals on Friday afternoon.
Noah Dreves scored on an assist from Shane Watkins in the 10th minute for North Idaho College, which shut out Treasure Valley 7-0 in Northwest Athletic Conference play on Friday at Eisenwinter Field.
Kai Flugel had a goal and assist and Lake City High product Greyden Lee two assists for NIC (5-5-2, 3-3-1), which hosts Blue Mountain today at 2:15 p.m.
“We finished well and were creating opportunities in as few touches as possible,” NIC coach Ken Thompson said. “Our guys with the ball were seeing the opportunity for the next guy, and once we got rolling, we put them out of their misery early. We started scoring, and the guys were playing with energy and having fun.”
Isaiah Damschen had six saves in the shutout for NIC.
Treasure Valley is 0-9-2, 0-6-1.

COEUR d’ALENE — Journey Tupea had 14 kills and 14 digs for the Cardinals in a 25-17, 25-11, 21-25, 25-22 win over the Chukars in Northwest Athletic Conference play at Christianson Gym.
Lake City High product Chloe Knudson had 13 kills and 15 digs, Taylor Foster 11 kills, Kynzey Mitzel 23 digs and Hokulea Vargas 49 assists for NIC (19-3, 8-0 NWAC), which leads the East Region.
Treasure Valley is 16-10, 6-2.
NIC travels to Big Bend of Moses Lake today at 2 p.m.

Timberlake High product Karissa Willis had six saves for Treasure Valley (4-7-1, 2-6).
