Sandpoint has talent and Kate McAlister is one talented woman! She has offered to serve on the city council and for that I am impressed and grateful. It is no easy job to run for office and it is even harder to do the job required by this position.

But Kate has the experience. She currently serves as president/CEO of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and has held that position for the past 10 years. She has served on several local boards including Angels over Sandpoint, Selkirk Loop, Sandpoint Human Relations Commission, Sandpoint Airport Advisory, the Sandpoint Urban Renewal Agency and the Panida Theater.

Kate supports education, small businesses, affordable housing and feels that strong leadership is critical for future success. She believes in listening to all sides and in finding common sense solutions. “This is about coming together and creating solutions based on broad input from all concerned parties,” she says.
