WOOD: It's a matter of trust

It is reassuring to be able to vote for someone who can be trusted. Trust is earned by performance over time. It is the reason my wife and I will vote Christie Wood for Coeur d’Alene City Council.

My first contact with Christie was while she was a School Resource Officer and I was the principal at Woodland Middle School. She was a valuable team member in strengthening school district safety. Her positive attitude and energy was infectious. Christie always showed respect for students, parents and staff even during difficult times. She often had to make tough calls, but she was fair and a good listener. She is intelligent which was obvious in her questioning and investigative skills.

When she was elected to the Coeur d’Alene School board and then was elected to serve as a North Idaho College Trustee, she brought the same skills to successfully help lead the school district’s and NIC’s quest for continuous improvement. We currently both serve on The Park and Rec Commission where her ability to ask intelligent, probing questions has been a valuable asset.

For years our town has been the beneficiary of her knowledge, background, courageous leadership and strong work ethic. Her stellar performance over time has laid the foundation of trust. We hope you will join us in voting for Christie Wood for Coeur d’Alene City Council on Nov. 5.
