Two people were detained Saturday evening in connection with a suspected homicide in Kalispell.

Kalispell Police Detective Jim Wardensky said that police were dispatched to welfare check at a home in southwest Kalispell on Saturday at about 5:42 p.m.

The residence is located on Eighth Avenue West.

“As details were learned, the welfare check turned into a homicide investigation,” Wardensky stated in a media release Sunday.

Two suspects are being detained and questioned about this situation, Wardensky said.

“The investigation is in its beginning stages,” he added. “We do not believe there is any immediate or direct threat to the public as a result of this situation.”

He said updates will follow as more information becomes available.
